Latvia waits for quarter final opponent
Without any problem Latvia wins against Australia 13:2 and finishes group B on a second place.
The spectators in the “Kreuzbleiche” have seen a one-way-floorball, highly dominated by the Latvian team. After a score of 3:0 and 84 seconds of the match the Australian goal keeper was so frustrated that she wanted to be changed. Already after 11 minutes and a score of 7:0 for Latvia, Australian coach Andrew Fenton took a time-out. Afterwards it seemed that the Australian team got some of their energy back and Jessica Laidler scored goal number one for the players of Down Under. New score 7:1. From now on team Australia played better but finally wasn´t able to stop team Latvia scoring more goals.
Latvias productive first line
Anyway during the second and third period team Lativia “only” shot six goals. Especially to be mentionned the first line of team Lativia. All in all this line with the wing players Diana Isjomina and Luize Bilinska was responsible for seven of the thirteen goals for the Latvian team. Probably Latvia will play their quarter final against team Switzerland if the Swiss team will win tomorrow against Poland.
